Fragrance Foundation Germany announces the finalists who will compete for the DUFTSTARS prizes at the 23rd annual awards ceremony in May.
A jury of 36 experts from the realms of perfume and fragrance manufacture, retail, media and publishing companies recently convened in a BMW showroom on theKurfürstendamm to review the submissions for 2015. Model and television presenter Alena Gerber served as Guest Juror and will host the upcoming awards ceremony, along with actress and musician Barbara Schoneberg, at the "Duftwerk Berlin" (a former power plant renamed especially for the awards ceremony).
"The importance of fragrance as a topic has grown significantly in recent years, which is reflected partially in the great public interest in the German perfume prize DUFTSTARS," said Susanne Rumbler, President of the Fragrance Foundation Germany. "The submissions of both small and large suppliers impressed the judges at a high, praiseworthy level."
Martin Ruppmann, managing director of the Fragrance Foundation Germany and the RLO Cosmetics Association, added: "Scent impressions are not something abstractand they often remain powerful, afflicted with many emotions and memories in mind. It is exactly these factors that make the DUFTSTARS awards ultimately a memorable and exciting event. "
After an extensive review of the 100 submissions for 2015, the jury chose 40 nominees who will compete for the DUFTSTARS prize in the categories of "Classic," "Exclusive," "Prestige" and "Lifestyle."
